Chickens in confinement

Farmed animals need your help now

Take Action

On Friday, May 15, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the latest coronavirus stimulus package, the HEROES Act. As drafted, it would be devastating for farmed animals. It not only fails to include language mandating slower slaughter-line speeds but asks for funding to pay for horrific mass on-farm animal slaughter.  On May 28, Senator Cory Booker and eight other senators sent a letter to Senate leadership asking them to halt higher-speed slaughter for chickens, pigs, and cows during the COVID-19 pandemic, a request made just days before the Senate is expected to vote on the HEROES Act.  Urge your senators to vote against the HEROES Act until it includes language to protect farmed animals, especially a slowing of slaughter lines.
